If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you’ve most likely heard of Lincoln Financial Field, also known as “The Linc.” This stadium is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It’s the home of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, as well as the Temple Owls football team.
The 1.7 million-square-foot stadium features 68,532 seats, 10,828 club seats, and 172 luxury suites. The seats are designed to allow fans to get the best view of the field and players. The stadium also has an impressive superstructure that rises more than 250 feet above ground level. A wing-like cover covers the upper deck, directing sound back toward the field. The stadium also includes video/scoreboards located between the lower and upper decks in the endzones.
The stadium first hosted a ticketed event in 2003. A soccer match between Manchester United and FC Barcelona was played there. The stadium has also hosted other major events, including concerts by U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Taylor Swift, as well as several professional soccer games. Though most Philadelphia Eagles home games are sold out, fans can still find a few individual game tickets online on ticket exchange sites.
The stadium also hosts a regular Army-Navy football game. The stadium’s capacity is adequate for large crowds and is an excellent location for such games. The field is also home to the Temple University volleyball team. Temple University pays the Eagles $3 million a year to play a home game there. The Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer has also played exhibition games at the stadium.
